When we first started this endeavor back in 2005, we had no idea that we’d still be going today. Our first event was small enough to easily fit onto a 4×8 sheet of plywood with plenty of spare room! I think we had 14 cake boxes and 60 mortar shells (I peeked back at the page: http://franklingang.com/fgfw/our-shows/2005-show/). It was a pretty amazing show!
Each year we have tried to increase the scale of the show. Whether the number of people attending, the amount of fireworks being used, or the infrastructure and firing methods utilized. Each year we have grown in experience and knowledge and scale.
This year is no exception. In fact, this year will not only be our largest show to date, but will be almost twice the size of last year’s show! Our display “table” this year will be roughly 80 feet long by 30 feet deep (that’s 75 times larger than our first show’s display “table”). The show will consist of 141 cake boxes, 20 fountains and 960 mortar shells!
We are excited to see everyone out there this year and looking forward to another amazing show for our 10th Anniversary!
